Papillon in a Pink Peacoat

This little dog (5 pounds) is not spoiled–no way! She’s my nearly 3-year-old (March 6th) papillon, Annie. Here we were out taking a walk on a winter day at the Foundation in Lyons, Kansas. It’s a very cool place to walk in a small town and Annie went crazy over all of the new and different smells that it had to offer.

She and my sister have become pretty fast friends.

  1. That’s probably one of the cutest dogs ever! I’m thinking ahead to my doggie future and now maybe I’ll have to consider a papillon! 🙂

  2. I hadn’t had a dog since I was a kid on the farm when I finally decided I would get one. I did a lot of reading and some “matching” on the internet, and Papillon kept coming up for me even though I hadn’t really ever seen one.
The biggest thing for me was I was not going to have a dog with problems of “messing” in the house. I can tell you that papillons (at least Annie) learned quickly, and probably had few than 10 “accidents” even when she was a puppy. Now she is like clockwork–7 in the morning (later if it’s cold), 5 in the afternoon, and 10 at night before bedtime–all at her “spot” outside.
The fact that she is sweet and a bit of a watchdog are bonuses.

  3. I have a papillon — we just got him last month. And I love him to death! He’s the sweetest dog I’ve ever seen. He and our other dog, a mini pinscher, get along great, though she bosses him around alot.

I’m still trying to get our dogs to go like clockwork. Do you feed Annie only at specific times? We (my hubby and I) go to work all day and feel bad for them if they have nothing to eat all day… so we leave a small bowl of food and water for them. But their trips to the bathroom are a little unpredictable.
