Tropical Storm Edouard has now been down-graded to a depression. (Perhaps a prescription for Prozac is in order.) There is still a circular motion to the storm, which continues to head to the northwest towards the Austin area.
In the Memorial Park area of Houston, it appears that around 3 inches of rain could have fallen since the beginning of the storm. The rain began to dissipate around 3 PM today, and even though there are still some darker clouds in motion, no more precipitation has fallen. Most of the moisture has soaked into the ground, which needed the moisture due to a so-far dry summer.
Annie and I took our evening walk earlier, and we ran into others doing the same due to cabin-fevered animals and owners off from work. There were some puddles left in a few places in the park, but otherwise, the rain had been well-absorbed. The larger trees have been needing this kind of moisture, which can get deeper into the ground.
